Burn Rehabilitation

The Rehabilitation Institute of the Caribbean offers treatment for outpatient with burn injury. An integral part of Burn Rehabilitation is the prevent contractures which can limit range of motion, function, mobility and can lead to severe disability. Rehabilitation is necessary for maintenance of range of motion and function which is critical during the initial stage of healing to prevent contractures of skin, muscles and disfigurement Burns that involve the upper limb are treated with aggressive rehabilitation to maintain the use of the arms and hand function. Burns to the lower extremities, that especially involve the skin across joints, have the risk of developing disabling contractures that can prevent walking.

Our goal in Burn Rehabilitation is to assist patients to regain control of their lives by restoring function. Our well trained professional and highly skilled staff will provide the best possible rehabilitation programs for patients to recover.
